With the potential for a strong El Niño weather pattern this year, we’re planning ahead to make sure everyone can enjoy a wonderful celebration while keeping the safety and comfort of our guests a top priority.
We’ve developed three contingency plans based on anticipated weather conditions and guest attendance.
☀️ PLAN A — Celebration as Planned!
Our first choice is to host the event right here at Conejo Gardens, just as originally planned!
🌧️ PLAN B — A Change of Scenery!
If weather conditions make an outdoor celebration at Conejo Gardens impractical, we’ll relocate the festivities to Janet’s Cafe, where their covered and enclosed outdoor patio offers a more weather-protected setting. This option will depend on expected attendance and forecasted conditions.
⛈️ PLAN C — Safety Comes First!
In the event of severe weather, the celebration may be canceled altogether. This decision will be made jointly by the owners of Janet’s Cafe and Conejo Gardens, based solely on weather severity and the safety of everyone involved.

We’re hoping for beautiful weather and a celebration at Conejo Gardens! Whatever Mother Nature has planned, we’ll keep everyone informed of any changes as the event approaches.

Our household would like to thank each and everyone one of you, all 48 people in attendance) so much for the helping us to make this years Friendsgiving Feast such and incredible event this year!
The side dishes, desserts and beverages that everyone provided complimented the perfectly roasted turkey (which was provided by Janet’s Cafe and Deli here in Santee) to the garlic herbed mashed potatoes and the mouth watering sautéed carrots and broccoli – it was truly a feast for the senses.
Beyond the amazing food, what made the day so special was the warmth and laughter shared with everyone gathered around the tables, fire pit and the pond. It means so much to us to have been a part of your Thanksgiving tradition, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event!
